Hello! I am Pamela Patrick and I am the creator and founder of Big City Buns American Bakery.

I believe that if you are going to indulge and treat yourself then you should NEVER SETTLE! You do deserve a treat, and you deserve the best quality and best tasting treats you can find. I opened the bakery to filter through the hype and viral trends and instead offer extremely tasty baked goods to everyone in London.

What makes these baked goods so different? American recipes and training deliver the distinct flavour and texture you would expect to get from my Grandma’s kitchen back in America!

I was raised in Michigan, USA. This is where I discovered my love for baking. Every Sunday since I can remember by dad and I would be in the kitchen, crafting cinnamon rolls and coffee cakes before church, and later, baking cookies and cakes for family celebrations. These cherished moments laid the foundation for my appreciation of home baked delicious treats and my passion for baking.

After living in London for 5 years I was constantly disappointed in the selection of overly sweet and dry baked goods. I longed for the familiar flavours of my childhood. I spent these 5 years sourcing secret family recipes and making adjustments to create my own recipes that would work with U.K. ingredients.

Following multiple redundancies in the tech sector in 2023 I turned to baking as a source of creativity and joy. I began sharing my fresh home baked creations with friends and family, who were quickly enchanted by the flavours and textures. Their enthusiastic feedback, claiming these baked goods were the best they'd ever tasted, inspired me to transform my passion into a profession. Big City Buns was born, getting its name from the flagship product, the American Cinnamon Roll.

I founded Big City Buns to offer a taste of American nostalgia to my community in Notting Hill. The recipes at Big City Buns are a blend of my family's cherished recipes, secret recipes shared by friends, and the latest food science techniques, ensuring each product is fresh, authentic, and irresistibly delicious. Today, the bakery is a beloved local spot where customers can enjoy a slice of genuine American bakery goodness.
